Title I

Overview

Welcome To Title 1

Title I is the largest Federal program serving students throughout the United States. The Title I program operates under the guidelines of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The Title I program helps schools and students meet state and local education standards. Title I funds are directed to schools with the highest poverty levels as determined by schools' free and reduced lunch rates.

At Hogan Cedars we call the Title I classroom, Literacy Lab. Literacy Lab is a class that students come to for 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Through a scientifically based approach, we work on strengthening reading and writing skills in a small group setting. We track your child's progress weekly and when adequate progress has been made, students are exited from the program. Lots of practice at home can speed this process.

Title 1 Special Events

Throughout the school year we have special events to help encourage families to become actively involved in their child’s reading.
